Australian
Psychological Society (APS) Continuing Professional
Development (CPD)
Please note:
All presentations and workshops at the ICAP
2010 have been endorsed for APS generalist
CPD points*. For activities which do not
show specialist endorsement by the relevant
APS College, members themselves are responsible
for deciding whether an activity qualifies
for specialist points or not. The APS PD
Information Guide, available from the APS
website, provides useful information about
college criteria for qualifying CPD activities
which can assist. Members are reminded to
retain evidence of the content of any such
activities in case of an audit.
*after the introduction of the National
Registration and Accreditation Scheme, CPD
points will be replaced by a system of counting
CPD hours.

Emerging
Scholars Program and Prize
We would like to announce
that there will be an Emerging Scholars
program at ICAP 2010 aimed at students of
Psychology. This program aims to encourage
and acknowledge emerging scholars who make
independent submissions for Open Papers
to the conference. Students of PhD, Doctorate
and Masters programs in Psychology are invited
to submit Open Papers for consideration
of inclusion in the Emerging Scholars program
by indicating their student status under
the themes section in the submission process
(i.e., indicate "Student Division"). Abstracts
will be judged on their significance to
applied psychology, innovation, scientific
quality of method and contribution to theoretical
advancement. Those students who are invited
to present their Open Paper as a part of
the Emerging Scholars program will receive
a certificate of acknowledgement and the
two students who are deemed to have demonstrated
particular excellence in the quality of
their presentation will be further acknowledged
and receive a prize at the conclusion of
the conference.
